Finally the English Premier League is coming to an end, almost at the time where are supposed to be looking forward to the new season. Before it all finishes, there are Europe places and Championship berths to be decided, and for a final time this season our alternative Week 38 Premier League Predictions are here so you don’t have to think at all.
This continues our alternative way of selecting Premier League winners. Some of them based on football stats, and some have a very obscure link to football or news events of that week.
For those who would like the full Premier League preview – read on for a taste below – or visit our full preview with way too many stats here.

Alternative Week 38 Premier League Predictions – Last Day Form
Since it is the last day, we thought it would be interesting to see who performs best on the last day of the season.
See who is best under pressure and/or who plays best when there’s nothing left to play for.
To determine the winning alternative tip is easy. We took the last day form from the last 10 seasons, and yes for one club we had to go down to the fourth tier, and have their total points accumulated.
So whichever team has more points on the last day from the last 10 seasons is more likely to win this weekend. We say anyway.
Simples.
Last Day Form – Full Table – Last 10 Seasons
Finally Arsenal are on top of the league…
Not a good sign for Aston Villa either….
Best of the Week 38 Preview
Our full preview with more stats and graphs than you could ever need is here for your viewing pleasure.
Barely Interesting Stats:
Only the bottom four teams have scored fewer points than Arsenal against London clubs this season.
For Burnley v Brighton – the last three times before this season the first league game between these sides was a draw, the second game was a draw. This season’s earlier results was 1-1….
Chelsea and Wolves are equal best scorers away to London clubs this season.
For Crystal Palace v Spurs there has never been a draw on a Sunday between these sides in eight matches. Six of the games have ended 1-0.
Crystal Palace have scored as many goals against London sides at home as Spurs have away to London sides – six goals.
Only Norwich and Watford have a worse record against the bottom six teams at home than Everton – by one point.
Both games in Leicester’s premiership season ended 1-1 against Man Utd.
Norwich and Man City played at Man City’s home ground twice in the 2013 calendar year, they won the first game 3-2 and lost the next game 7-0.
Newcastle have scored the fewest goals at home to top six sides, but they have also played the fewest games against teams in the top six (at time of playing them).
Southampton have won the only game between these sides on a Sunday.
The last eight games between these West Ham and Aston Villa sees a barely interesting pattern – (most recent game first) – Draw – West Ham – Draw – Aston Villa – Draw – West Ham – Draw – Aston Villa.
We Say:
Arsenal 4 Watford 0
Burnley 3 Brighton 0
Chelsea 1 Wolves 1
Crystal Palace 0 Spurs 2
Everton 0 Bournemouth 1
Leicester 3 Man Utd 3
Man City 10 Norwich 0
Newcastle 1 Liverpool 2
Southampton 0 Sheffield Utd 0
West Ham 3 Aston Villa 1
