Gurgler favourite Greg Norman is a people person and a problem solver, this year he has already provided his plan for the bushfires, and posted inspirational videos to get people through Coronavirus lockdown. This is the first in a series of regular problem solving hypothetical exercises featuring the Great White Shark, and one that will be full of no nonsense solutions, along with no clothed Greg.
It has to take someone of his stature, knowledge and experience to sort out this edition of What Would Greg Norman Do? As the discussion rages on the NRL Anti Vaxxer debate.
The NRL Anti Vaxxer debate revolves a handful of players who don’t want the flu shot because of their anti vaccination views. Thankfully at this stage their refusal only has affected the players declining the request and not the league as a whole, but still the debate drags on, we simply ask the question….What would Greg Norman do?
THE THREE POINT GREG NORMAN PLAN TO ALLOW NRL ANTI VAXXER PLAYERS TO PLAY
So what would Greg Norman do?
Well, we think he would issue a trio of challenges to these players, and only if they can complete them all, the Greg Norman doff of the Shark hat towards the Queensland Government should be more than enough. Given what he has done for the state of Queensland, and the fact that he was 6th on a list of Q150 icons – a celebration of 150 years of the state. Greg talks – we listen.
And since the NRL Anti Vaxxer crowd in question are fit, professional athletes, then it should be no problem to attempt these to play in the NRL again, without getting the jab.
1 – OUTDRIVE GREG NORMAN THREE TIMES IN A ROW
One thing Greg Norman could do throughout his golfing career was drive a golf ball.
We were there when Palm Meadows golf course hosted Greg Norman and friends, and his big party trick was blasting a ball across a giant lake on the 18th hole.
So the challenge is for at least the Gold Coast based players and Greg Norman to meet on the 18th Tee at Palm Meadows. With social distancing of course.
Players from NSW must attend Palm Meadows before playing in Queensland.
Greg Norman will tee up and tee off with a signature smashing drive. His ball sets a benchmark.
The NRL Anti Vaxxers must outdrive Greg Norman three times in a row to proceed to the next step.
Failure to do so means the jab or no play.
2. THREE HOUR GYM SESSION WITH THE SHARK
In a recent interview Greg Norman said he wanted to live to 110, and if you have seen his fitness program you’d know why he’s a chance.
Since the NRL Anti Vaxxers are professional athletes, they should be able to go toe to toe with a man twice their age.
So the challenge is the players taker a three hour gym session with the Shark, all exercises at Greg Norman’s choosing of course.
After three hours, the recovery heart rate is measured, and if it is better than the Shark’s they can proceed for the final round.
Failure to do so means the jab or no play.
3. NUDE SHOOT
Greg Norman’s nudity has almost become as famous as his on course action, and so it should be given the shape he is in.
So in the toughest leg for the NRL Anti Vaxxer players, they must get their kit off, and do a 30 minute photo shoot.
Just for fun, Greg Norman jumps in and disrobes again.
After the session finishes the best four shots are selected and then uploaded to twitter, and if the NRL players get more twitter likes, that means they have passed the three tests, and can proceed with the 2020 NRL season.
