Alternative Week 28 EPL Predictions – Gurgler v Leap Years

The 2019-20 Premier League will see games on the 29th of February this weekend, so in honour of the rare day out our Alternative Week 28 EPL Predictions are based on teams stats from the last 5 leap years. Sadly, there were only a handful of games played in the last 20 years on Feb 29.

This week continues our different way of selecting Premier League winners. Some of them based on football stats, and some have a very obscure link to football or news events of that week.

Alternative Week 28 EPL Predictions – Last Minute Goals

Our theory is that teams that go better in the calendar year of a leap year are probably going to go better on Feb 29.

We have all the results for each team from 2000, 2004, 2008, 2012 and 2016 and come up with an average points scored.

For “fun” below, we have comparisons for EPL and all teams for their leap year performance and overall from the last 20 seasons.
