Fantasy Premier League FPL Week 27 Preview – Captain Choices
Below we have some relevant FPL data points like scoring records against this week’s opponent, FPL points per minute, Current FPL Form, how hard the team they are playing this weekend is and more, and for each category a score is given based on the % of the best result for that stat.
Add the % scores together and you get our Captain rating. And for our thoughts below.
This week, there appears to be only one choice, but this is skewed slightly with Sadio Mane’s form scored dropping with injury.
Data for Captain includes Man City v West Ham
WE SAY YES
It has to be Salah, ticking about every box, including being everyone’s captain.
Perhaps Jimenez will run riot with Traore against Norwich for a differential.
WE SAY NO
Not Aguero.
Fantasy Premier League FPL Week 27 Preview In Depth – Aguero v Vardy
A lot of FPL players have been tempted by the fruit of Aguero, and a lot of those dumping Jamie Vardy to do so. But with Man City missing next week due to Cup commitments, we see whether he should be kept, and whether the Jamie Vardy is the player to do it.
We have some stats on their upcoming opponents, and their scoring record per month for the second half of the season. You will see from the monthly analysis that Vardy does tend to drift off in scoring in the early part of the calendar year.
A few questions though to consider, especially in light of the potential European ban for Man City.
Will Man City focus focus on winning the Champions League, extending to fingers to UEFA? Is so, will they wait until after beating Leicester this weekend to virtually ensure second place?
If a focus does turn to Cups and Champions League, will that mean Aguero will be saved for the big stage. And Pep can be an FPL killer at the best of times. If he is not saved and pushed through everything, that could cause an injury which he occasionally gets.
Aguero is the better player, and with mostly better stats below, but will he play?
Barring injury, Jamie Vardy will start every match for Leicester.
The stats below for Jamie Vardy do show a real drop in January, and a big pick up in March. But when considering this, one must factor in that the March boom has coincided with two manager sacking and new manager bounce.
THE VERDICT – Take Vardy for Feb/March – then make sure you have Aguero back for April and/or his last six games. He has mega goals/assists record against the last five opponents.
