Wondering which Premier League side has the easiest or hardest set of upcoming fixtures? Well allow us to present our Week 22 Premier League Fixtures Difficulty Rating.
Proud partners of The Gurgler – S&C Sports Data – have come up with a measure to judge the difficulty factor for each team over the next three games. Not just with current table position, but historical results and more.
We could go further, but we think three games provides just enough window for FPL players, late night sports fans in Australia and around the world, or multi loving gamblers alike.
How our Premier League Fixtures Difficulty Rating works….
S&C Sports Data have data from 10 seasons of Premier League, and created a measure of each team’s head to head record over that period, on a sliding scale from current day backwards.
Then the team in question and the opposition’s overall and recent form is taken into consideration, including measuring the relative form of the two sides.
The Match Rater 3000 score is then produced, with a range of 1 being the easiest possible fixture up to 10 for the hardest.
So the S&C measure combines many fields to give an overall picture for the next three games.
Week 22 Premier League Fixtures Difficulty Rating
Upcoming Three Game Rating
- Bournemouth may have dropped into the bottom three, but their next three games present an opportunity to get well out of danger’s way. Bournemouth are just the type of team to win all three too as their form comes in waves.
- Leicester too have an easier run after the Liverpool-Man City double recently.
- Liverpool have a tougher run of fixtures with Spurs A, Man Utd H and Wolves A to come. Can they remain unbeaten after those fixtures?

Which team in Overperforming / Underperforming against our Difficulty Rating?
We have gone back through our difficulty ratings so far this season, and worked out the potential points each team could have scored, and then have a comparison ready for mild interest.
Our predictions were a little hard on Newcastle and Southampton, but no surprise that Sheffield Utd are out-performing our predictions.
At the other end some big names are underperforming, mainly from London and Manchester.
Wehave got Bournemouth spot on though, not an easy task.
