Fantasy Premier League FPL GW 19 Preview – Captain Choices
Below we have three lots of data – Player history v Team, FPL Points from this season per minute, current FPL Form, and more.
Add the scores together and you get our Final Score. And for our thoughts below.
It’s not a bad guide for the top players, not exclusive to picking a captain.
Another hard week with the top two playing each other, and the next best – Man City – away to Wolves. Chelsea have probably the easiest fixture of the big sides, but does that translate into a captain choice?
WE SAY YES
Hard to go past the Liverpool duo of Mane and Salah, but which one if you’re lucky enough to have two. Flip a coin we say.
Vardy is Vardy, and is always a factor, as he showed in defeat last weekend against Man City.
Rashford is our number two selection, and he is playing at home to Newcastle. The worry with him is Man Utd’s form against sides lower than them, but as Newcastle have the same amount of points, perhaps this won’t be a factor this weekend, unlike last weekend against Watford.
A left field selection is Jack Grealish or Teemu Pukki, as they are playing each other, and both of their defences can be quite suspect.
WE SAY NO
Wolves are a tough side at the best of times, and play well against the better sides, so perhaps Man City players are worth avoiding this week for captain. Although with KDB in great form and in a better position to score FPL points, that will always be a risk.
FPL UNDERPERFORMERS / OVERPERFORMERS
Every year there will be Emperors of Disappointment and Kings of the Surprise and this season has proven no different.
A quick and nasty way of checking this our check of total points against cost.
No surprise a certain Sheffield United “defender” leads the way for top value. He is joined by a few team mates. Leicester defenders fill the next two spots.
Vardy makes the list despite his cost. Thankfully, so does Pukki.
Danny Ings’ recent goal spree moves him up this list too.
Down the other end of the boat are the under achievers. To determine this we did the same math, but set a minimum of 20 FPL points scored.
CHANGE IN FORM LAST 4 WEEKS
A quick look at who has change in form stats from week 16..
A few Watford players showing signs of life. We took Kabasele on the strenth of recent performances, value and potential.
Fantasy Premier League FPL GW 19 – Comings and Goings
Want to know who is the most popular player overall? Or the highest pick per team? Or the most popular team? Or who changed ownership the most? And what about price changes?
We say it’s an FPL buffet, and help yourself. Data up to date as of Thursday 12am AEST.
TOP 20 PLAYERS SELECTED
Vardy remains on top, and why wouldn’t he be, followed bu Lundstram who we are always surprised when he is under 50%.
The second graph is the movements within this top 20 group. Mane out continues from last week, we presume for Salah who appears in the positive change this week.
De Bruyne has become a bit of a Yo-Yo FPL selection, but tops the movement for Top 20 players this weekend.
People also continue to dis-Mount.
THIS WEEK’S TOP INS AND OUTS
No surprise here as Son is dumped for his Red Card stint, and possibly his poor judgement earning that red slip.
De Bruyne is the big mover overall, with two quality players from midlands teams also jumping up the popularity stakes.
Alli still remains popular, although we think that bubble has burst.
FPL OWNERSHIP BY TEAM
Want to know which team supplies the most FPL players, the answer won’t surprise. Liverpool are on top as the most popular team.
Not long ago Man City took over from Liverpool as top dog, and now they have been passed by the Foxes who have almost overtaken Liverpool now.
Wolves are a big mover this week, jumping ahead of Man City.
