Wondering which Premier League side has the easiest or hardest set of upcoming fixtures? Well allow us to present our Week 12 Premier League Fixtures Difficulty Rating.
Proud partners of The Gurgler – S&C Sports Data – have come up with a measure to judge the difficulty factor for each team over the next three games. Not just with current table position, but historical results and more.
We could go further, but we think three games provides just enough window for FPL players, late night sports fans in Australia, or multi loving gamblers alike.
How our Week 12 Premier League Fixtures Difficulty Rating works….
S&C Sports Data have data from 10 seasons of Premier League, and created a measure of each team’s head to head record over that period, on a sliding scale from current day backwards.
Then the team in question and the opposition’s overall and recent form is taken into consideration, including measuring the relative form of the two sides.
The Match Rater 3000 score is then produced, with a range of 1 being the easiest possible fixture up to 10 for the hardest.
So the S&C measure combines many fields to give an overall picture for the next three games.

Which team in Overperforming / Underperforming against our Difficulty Rating?
We have gone back through our difficulty ratings so far this season, and worked out the potential points each team could have scored, and then have a comparison ready for mild interest.
Our predicted figure has leader Liverpool and Watford from either ends of the table spot on, but some of the other big teams are down as underperforming against our measure. High expectations for Man City who we said should be 11/11 wins. Hard to argue against Arsenal and Spurs underperforming.
Given we only expected Newcastle to have two points, no wonder they are on top.
