Wondering which Premier League side has the easiest or hardest set of upcoming fixtures? Well allow us to present our Week 11 Premier League Fixtures Difficulty Rating.
Proud partners of The Gurgler – S&C Sports Data – have come up with a measure to judge the difficulty factor for each team over the next three games. Not just with current table position, but historical results and more.
We could go further, but we think three games provides just enough window for FPL players, late night sports fans in Australia, or multi loving gamblers alike.
How our Week 11 Premier League Fixtures Difficulty Rating works….
S&C Sports Data have data from 10 seasons of Premier League, and created a measure of each team’s head to head record over that period, on a sliding scale from current day backwards.
Then the team in question and the opposition’s overall and recent form is taken into consideration, including measuring the relative form of the two sides.
The Match Rater 3000 score is then produced, with a range of 1 being the easiest possible fixture up to 10 for the hardest.
So the S&C measure combines many fields to give an overall picture for the next three games.

Week 11 Premier League Fixtures Difficulty Rating Trends
- Two underwhelming sides get a chance to go on a run of easier games – Spurs and Everton, but coincidentally play each other this weekend.
- Promoted sides are down the bottom too, welcome relief for Norwich who look in trouble.
- Crystal Palace’s great start to the season will be challenged by their next few fixtures.
- Further down we take the predicted points from matching the difficulty ratings of each team and compare it to their current points haul. It is mildly interesting. Just the way we like it.Liverpool are as high as they get with a looming game against Man City in the next three.
- Chelsea’s charmed life will start to get a little harder. As does Leicester’s.

Which team in Overperforming / Underperforming against our Difficulty Rating?
We have gone back through our difficulty ratings so far this season, and worked out the potential points each team could have scored, and then have a comparison ready for mild interest.
Our predicted figure has leader Liverpool spot on, and alf the sides within a win of the current points total. According to us Newcastle are overperforming, or our difficulty rating is way too harsh. Although in fairness, who’d expect Newcastle wins v Spurs and Man Utd. Sheffield Utd too on paper are outperforming, and hard to disagree given the way they have gone about their first season back in the Premier League for a decade and more.
The most underperforming side according to us is Man City who should have won all their games. Which is hard to do. Arsenal and Spurs are also well under according to us, and that is hard to argue against.
