Fantasy Premier League FPL Preview Gameweek 9 – The Big Questions
Should I get rid of Salah this weekend?
Verdict: If you are thinking about moving Mo Salah on in the next few weeks then it will probably pay to do it now. His record is not great against Man Utd, and when we say not great, we mean zero goals or assists against the Red Devils in four games. And Liverpool’s record against Man Utd at Old Trafford isn’t great. Salah is a little out of form too (for his lofty standards) with no goals or assists in the last two games.
But after this weekend’s mega clash, Spurs awaits (Salah has 6 goals in 9) and newly promoted Aston Villa.
For us, we enjoy watching him play too much to get rid. But his hefty cost could be used to get an Aguero into your side with their easy run ahead. Or perhaps swap over to the Mane man Sadio.
Is the Pukki party over?
Verdict: Sadly, it looks as if the good times are at least starting to slow down. Norwich’s injuries aren’t helping. Neither is their terrible away form, which has seen them accumulate zero points so far. And on the back of the flogging by Aston Villa last time out.
Two of their next three are away (v Bournemouth this weekend and Brighton in Week 11) and Manchester Utd visit in between.
It could be a good time to swap him out for a few cheap options like Maupay & Connolly (Brighton) who will play Norwich at home in three games time.
We are still keeping him though, at least until after the Man Utd game which could be a coach killer.
The Watchlist
Here’s a few quick points on players, themes and teams to watch.
- Can Spurs turn it around quickly, there’s too much expensive FPL point scoring talent going to waste. A home match against Watford is the perfect way to start.
- Have Wolves already turned the corner, three clean sheets in a row (all comps) and a win against Man City last time out.
- Callum Hudson-Odoi looked quite good last time out against Southampton, and equally good for England over the International break. A great cheap option if you don’t already have Mason Mount.
- One wonders why the absence of Paul Pogba is being reported as a negative for Man Utd.
