Ever wondered which Premier League side has the easiest or hardest set of upcoming fixtures? Well allow us to present our Week 6 Premier League Fixtures Difficulty Rating.
Proud partners of The Gurgler – S&C Sports Data – have come up with a measure to judge the difficulty factor for each team over the next three games.
We could go further, but we think three games provides just enough window for FPL players, late night sports fans in Australia, or multi loving gamblers alike.
How our Week 6 Premier League Fixtures Difficulty Rating works….
S&C Sports Data have data from 10 seasons of Premier League, and created a measure of each team’s head to head record over that period, on a sliding scale from current day backwards.
Then the team in question and the opposition’s overall and recent form is taken into consideration, including measuring the relative form of the two sides.
The Match Rater 3000 score is then produced, with a range of 1 being the easiest possible fixture up to 10 for the hardest.
So the S&C measure combines many fields to give an overall picture for the next three games.

Week 6 Premier League Fixtures Difficulty Rating Trends
- Man City appears to have the best run possible to overcome their recent blip at Carrow Road. Many FPL followers could say Pep got what he deserved. Perhaps looking at the upcoming fixtures, they won’t take them as easy. An interesting point is that Man City’s game v Watford is the first 0 rating as previous flogging of Watford combined with relative table position and form means this is the easiest game of the season so far.
- Spurs can capitalise on a goo win with an easier run.
- Norwich are finally getting an easy run, so time for more Pukki parties.
- Watford can breathe easier once this weekend is over.
- Strugglers Wolves life doesn’t get much easier.
- In fact, we have highlighted the bottom three’s Difficulty Rating for the season below.
Which team in Overperforming / Underperforming against our Difficulty Rating?
We have gone back through our difficulty ratings so far this season, and worked out the potential points each team could have scored, and then have a comparison ready for mild interest.
No surprise that Norwich are overperforming, and Liverpool with a 100% record. And the bottom three are not.
Our main mild point of interest is that our Difficulty Factor and Man Utd’s points match exactly.
