Week 4 Premier League Fixtures Difficulty Rating

Ever wondered which Premier League side has the easiest or hardest set of upcoming fixtures? Well allow us to present our Week 4 Premier League Fixtures Difficulty Rating.

Proud partners of The Gurgler – S&C Sports Data – have come up with a measure to judge the difficulty factor for each team over the next three games.

We could go further, but we think three games provides just enough window for FPL players, late night fans in Australia, or multi loving gamblers alike.

How our Premier League Fixtures Difficulty Rating works….

S&C Sports Data have data from 10 seasons of Premier League, and created a measure of each team’s head to head record over that period, on a sliding scale from current day backwards.

Then the team in question and the opposition’s overall and recent form is taken into consideration, including measuring the relative form of the two sides.

The Match Rater 3000 score is then produced, with a range of 1 being the easiest possible fixture up to 10 for the hardest.

So the S&C measure combines many fields to give an overall picture.

Week 4 Premier League Fixtures Difficulty Rating Trends

  • Leicester City have crept to the top of the Difficulty Ratings for the next three weeks, after floating towards the top the last few weeks.
  • Manchester United continue their reign at the bottom with the easiest fixtures. Although that didn’t seem to help them much last weekend.
  • 5/6 big teams feature in the bottom 5, with only Chelsea excluded. They are in the midfield of difficult games ratings with a difficult trip to Wolves awaiting and Liverpool to visit.
  • Watford have Arsenal and Man City coming up – hard games to get out of their current funk. Happily they’re away to Newcastle first, where they have a decent record lately.
