Premier League Fixtures Difficulty Rating Week 3

Ever wondered which Premier League side has the easiest or hardest set of upcoming fixtures? Well wonder no longer as we present out Premier League Fixtures Difficulty Rating Week 3.

Proud partners of The Gurgler – S&C Sports Data – have come up with a measure to judge the difficulty factor for each team over the next three games.

We could go further, but three games provides just enough window for FPL players, late night fans in Australia, or multi loving gamblers alike.

You could use gambling odds, table position, or the FPL difficulty factor from the Premier League website, but that only provides per team or match, we give you all 20 teams at once.

How our Premier League Fixtures Difficulty Rating – Week 3 works….

S&C Sports Data have data from 10 seasons of Premier League, and created a measure of each team’s head to head record over that period, on a sliding scale from current day backwards.

Then the team in question and the opposition’s overall and recent form is taken into consideration, including measuring the relative form of the two sides.

The Match Rater 3000 score is then produced, with a range of 1 being the easiest possible fixture up to 10 for the hardest.

So the S&C measure combines many fields to give an overall picture.

For this week we have used the 2018-19 season data, and two weeks of 19-20 data, but this will continue to evolve with 2019-20 data as the weeks roll on.

So don’t forget to return every week.

Premier League Fixtures Difficulty Rating – Week 3 Trends

  • Newcastle go to the top of the difficulty ratings for games in Week 3, 4 and 5. Just the perfect reward for an ordinary loss to Norwich last weekend. No less than Spurs and Liverpool await. Their only home games is against Watford, who have beaten them in Newcastle on three of the last four fixtures.
  • Manchester United have the lowest three game rating for the season so far. Leicester at home is their hardest on paper.
  • Liverpool climb up to a rating of 4.7, their highest rating for the season. Arsenal come to visit this weekend, but the games look straight forward outside of that.
  • Sheffield Utd continue their great run down the bottom of the Difficult Fixture list in second last. They can continue on their merry way as Premier League.
