Time for our neverfail NRL Round 11 predictions and mini preview of the weekend. Only one of those things is a lie. After losing the unlosable tipping week, with a swing against the readership of this website, we vow to do better in the future, starting with this week.
As you might guess, it’s all about politics this week, after the big election result on Saturday night.
Interested in Predictions based on a barely interesting stat or something completely unrelated to rugby league? Like this week’s tips based on the 2019 Federal Election results. Or a handful of barely interesting stats to go with each game. Or a best bet which is currently profiting for the season.
Of course you are. Our Alternative NRL Round 11 predictions awaits.

SHARKS (LNP) to beat Dragons (ALP)
BACKGROUND FOR TIPS – – Since the election is the biggest news around after Game of Thrones, it is appropriate to use the election result to determine NRL Round 11 predictions.
How it works this week is we find the electorate of each club (heartland not necessarily stadium) and if that seat went to the government over another party that team gets the tip, as they are more likely to get funds from the government and make the people happy. In the case of a tie, we have chosen subjectively.
OPPOSITION TIPPING PROGRESS – 45/80

NRL ROUND 11 PREDICTIONS PREVIEW – MATCH BY MATCH THOUGHTS
Here is our short game by game preview for the big weekend ahead. We couldn’t offer up our NRL ROUND 11 predictions without explaining ourselves a little further.
THU 7:50pm – PARRAMATTA EELS v PENRITH PANTHERS
Head to Head since 1998 – Eels 20 Panthers 19
This Season: Penrith 12 Parramatta 20
BARELY INTERESTING FACT
Panthers have won the last four clashes between these sides at Parramatta’s home ground if the game was played on Channel Nein.
SUMMARY
Parramatta are great at their new home ground, but not great elsewhere. Penrith aren’t great anywhere.
ONE REASON TO WATCH
The first battle of the West at the shiny new stadium. Or if the implosions at Penrith continue.
Blake Ferguson to score a try and Eels win @ $3.10
FRI 6:00pm – MANLY SEA EAGLES v GOLD COAST TITANS
Head to Head since 1998 – Manly 11 Titans 8
Last Season: Gold Coast 32 Manly Warringah 20 — Manly Warringah 34 Gold Coast 42
BARELY INTERESTING FACT
Titans have won the last two Friday night clashes between these sides.
SUMMARY
Manly defy injuries, tipsters and odds to keep winning. Titans defy themselves after taking early leads.
ONE REASON TO WATCH THIS GAME
Martin Taupau continuing to kick arse.
Titans to score first try @ $2.20
FRI 8:05pm – NEWCASTLE KNIGHTS v SYDNEY ROOSTERS
Head to Head since 1998 – Roosters 27 Knights 12
Last Season: Newcastle 16 Roosters 18 — Roosters 38 Newcastle 8
BARELY INTERESTING FACT
Roosters have won 10 of the last 11 matches between these sides.
SUMMARY
The Roosters slipped up against the Broncos last weekend, and the Knights are in some decent form.
ONE REASON TO WATCH
Ponga v Tedesco. Or can Mitchell Pearce play his way into the Blues side against his old team. Qld hopes so.
Tedesco to score anytime @ $2.10
SAT 3:00pm – CANBERRA RAIDERS v NORTH QLD COWBOYS
Head to Head since 1998 – Canberra 20 Cowboys 18
This Season: Cowboys 12 Canberra 30
BARELY INTERESTING FACT
Canberra have never lost to the Cowboys in May.
SUMMARY
Canberra held their own against the Rabbitohs last weekend, and look a decent top four prospect. The Cowboys got home last weekend against the Eels, and look a little more like top eight material than earlier in the season.
ONE REASON TO WATCH
We’re hoping it is Gideon Gela-Mosby carving it up on the wing.
Canberra to win @ $1.44
SAT 5:30pm – NZ WARRIORS v BRISBANE BRONCOS
Head to Head since 1998 – Broncos 18 Warriors 18
Last Season: Brisbane 6 Warriors 26 — Warriors 18 Brisbane 27
BARELY INTERESTING FACT
These two sides have only met twice in May – the Warriors have won both.
SUMMARY
Both sides got wins last weekend, both slightly unexpected. Both teams sit 10th and 11th just a win away from the top eight. This game is quite important then.
ONE REASON TO WATCH
Broncos v Warriors games are always entertaining.
Corey Oates to score a try and Brisbane Broncos to win @ $2.10
SAT 7:30pm – SOUTH SYDNEY RABBITOHS v WESTS TIGERS
Head to Head since 1998 – Rabbitohs 17 Tigers 15
Last Season: South Sydney 51 Wests Tigers 10 — Wests Tigers 22 South Sydney 6
BARELY INTERESTING FACT
Rabbitohs have won the past five clashes between these sides in May, going back to 2009.
SUMMARY
Rabbitohs continue to grind out the wins and lead the competition. Wests Tigers keep grinding but don’t necessarily get the results they deserve.
ONE REASON TO WATCH
Cody Walker v Benji Marshall
Total Match Points under 43.5 @ $1.90
SUN 2:00pm – CANTERBURY BULLDOGS v MELBOURNE STORM
Head to Head since 1998 – Bulldogs 21 Storm 19
This Season: Melbourne 18 Bulldogs 16
BARELY INTERESTING FACT
The Bulldogs are Melbourne’s bogey team. Well at least the team they have the worst win % against.
SUMMARY
Somehow Melbourne won last weekend, despite playing not much better than when they didn’t deserve to beat the Sharks. Bulldogs got a win to remove themselves from the bottom.
ONE REASON TO WATCH
Ryan Papenhuyzen
Bulldogs +12.5 start @ $1.68
SUN 4:05pm – ST GEORGE ILLAWARRA DRAGONS v CRONULLA SHARKS
Head to Head since 1998 – St George-Illawarra 22 Sharks 20
Last Season: Sharks 16 St George Illawarra 20 — St George Illawarra 40 Sharks 20
BARELY INTERESTING FACT
The Dragons have won 6/7 at Win Stadium. Sharks have been kept scoreless for two of those games.
SUMMARY
The Dragons were awful last weekend against the Knights, while the many Scomo sightings weren’t enough for the Sharks to out-tough Manly. Both teams are now outside the top eight. Sharks on points difference only.
ONE REASON TO WATCH
It is a fierce local derby. Or more Scomo sightings.
Sharks to win @ $1.90
