A Who Cares 2019 Monaco Grand Prix-view

The second race of the 2019 Formula 1 season is almost here, and given we’ll be up late watching the race, it would be lazy of us if we didn’t provide a 2019 Monaco Grand Prix-view.

But our 2019 Monaco Grand Prix Preview isn’t just any old look ahead to a Grand Prix, we attempt to come up with a Care Factor rating for the race itself, use a variety of stats to determine a winner and to barely entertain the readers, and throw in some of our bold claims for the race ahead.

Sounds barely interesting? Well you’ve come to the right place for a 2019 Monaco Grand Prix-view

THE 2019 MONACO GRAND PRIX CARE FACTOR

Should you care about 2019 Monaco Grand Prix? Here is our break down of why you should / shouldn’t.

We have five categories rate out of ten, and the final score will determine the care factor for this race.

TRACK  – 10/10

Unique, tight, plenty to look at, and walls ready to punish. Safe to say it is a 10/10.

HISTORY – 10/10

There is hardly a Grand Prix with more history. Some nations may have held Grands Prix for longer, but very tracks are almost the same configuration as the original one from nearly 90 years ago.

RACING POTENTIAL – 2/10

For all the good stuff of the Monaco Grand Prix, unless it rains it is usually a processional, dull race. Not a good thing given how this season’s races have gone.

IMPORTANCE – 10/10

It is the big race everyone wants to win. It has added factors this year as the pressure is building on Ferrari to make a championship of it.

BUZZ – 10/10

Even mainstream Australian newspapers will be all over the Monaco GP in their soft news section. And the celebrities? Well there’ll be plenty. Sadly TV cameras will focus on the various celebrities far too much because of it. Although it’s not usually competing with on track action.

TOTAL CARE FACTOR = 42/50

0-10 – Check the result, move on with life.
10-20 – Watch it live as Background viewing, or a Monday night delayed watch.
21-30 – Watch it live, as it will probably be too dull once you know the result.
31-40 – Record, Watch it Live, Watch the replay.
41-50-Clear the schedule, unplug the phones, a great GP / event awaits.

WHO WILL WIN THE 2019 MONACO GRAND PRIX?

With so many questions arising from Australia, it is still hard to predict the winner of this weekend’s Monaco GP with any confidence.

That’s not to say we won’t attempt it with some arrogantly misplaced confidence.
