Premier League Predictions Week 15 – Gurgler v Midweek Form
Opponent Tips Background: What better way to celebrate the first midweek round of EPL fixtures than to use the previous midweek results to determine some opposition tips to play against.
We have compiled all the midweek games from the past 5 seasons, and determined an average points per game from all the games. We have included all midweek games from the EPL and Championship from the past 5 seasons. The better the average score, the team gets the tip.
For barely interesting facts, we have the full list of all team’s midweek games stats at the end. Less interesting to most was that the best non current EPL team for midweek form is Ipswich Town in 6th, and only beaten by five of the top six teams. Pity it will make no difference to our beloved Town as they sail off into League One.

Midweek Premier League Predictions Week 15 Quick Mini Preview
GAME BY GAME PREVIEW IN 50 WORDS OR SO.
BOURNEMOUTH v HUDDERSFIELD
Bournemouth needs a win badly, having lost four in a row, albeit against strong opposition. Losing to Manchester City 3-1 from the weekend is no shame, but not getting a win against previously struggling Huddersfield could start the fall into the growing scrap for relegation. Huddersfield, who looked busted arse and a certainty to be relegated a month ago, have done well with seven points from their last four. It still leaves them 10th.
Last season saw this head to head go to the home side on each occasion 4-0 and 4-1. Plus two of the four games preceding last season saw a victory by 4 goals or more.
Best Bet: Bournemouth to win + Over 2.5 match Goals @ $2.62
BRIGHTON v CRYSTAL PALACE
A nice bitter rivalry for a midweek Premier League fixture. Last season saw these teams meet three times, and the record was a win for each side and a draw. Both teams got a refreshing win last weekend – Brighton got their first win in 4 games, and Crystal Palace ended a 8 match winless drought. Now time to see a little bit of hate.
Best Bet: First Goal Scorer – Glenn Murray @ $6.00
WEST HAM v CARDIFF
Good old unpredictable West Ham go and be unpredictable and beat Newcastle, who were on a three game winning run, and beat them 3-0. Good timing too as a loss would have had them just 3 points above relegation. What will this midweek bring from the Hammers? Probably 0-0. Cardiff are improving with two wins from three, making the relegation scrap a good one.
West Ham are on a six match winning run against Cardiff City.
Best Bet: Under 2.5 Goals @ $1.79
WATFORD v MANCHESTER CITY
The annual drop off of Watford after a bright start is on again, this time it can’t be blamed on Richarlisson. Manchester City will win the league no doubt, just the margin is in question, or whether they will lose.
Manchester City are on an eight game winning run v Watford, and the last three have gone for a total of 14-1. Watford haven’t beaten Manchester City since 1987.
Best Bet: Either team to miss a penalty @ $7.30
WOLVES v CHELSEA
Chelsea got the job done against Fulham in their west London derby last weekend, but weren’t overly impressive, especially after the big loss to Spurs in the previous game. Wolves, for all their pre season predictions are now on a run of one point from their last six, and are in free fall. A loss to Chelsea won’t help either.
Wolves actually have the better head to head 34-28, but due to historical dominance than recent form – one win since 1980.
Best Bet: Half Time Result – Draw @ $2.10
BURNLEY v LIVERPOOL
Burnley are in the worst recent form in the Premier League, just one point from their last six, and goal difference of -14. They are just one point from being dead last, and a visit from Liverpool won’t help. Not that Liverpool are tearing up the Premier League like last season, but they are still second, undefeated, and just two points from leaders Man City. The holy trinity of attack from last year are not just firing this season, yet.
Best Bet: Both teams To Score – No @ $1.73
FULHAM v LEICESTER
There will be plenty of talk of Claudio Ranieri ahead of this clash, and rightly so. His championship win with Leicester is still one of Football’s greatest achievements. Keeping Fulham up not be quite as heroic, but will certainly be a decent thing for the CV. We hope they stay up, but our record with our own teams this season ensures we don’t support them too much.
Fulham and Leicester haven’t met each other in any league since 2004 when Leicester were relegated from the EPL. They have met in four Cup games since though, with 23 goals scored in the four matches.
Best Bet: Draw @ $3.30
EVERTON v NEWCASTLE
Everton’s poor record in the Liverpool derby continued last weekend, and Newcastle joined them in losing as well, with a surprise loss to West Ham at home. Two teams down on their luck after last weekend. Everton have the better recent record in this head to head and are on a 5 game winning run against Newcastle.
Best Bet: Both teams To Score – No @ $1.80
SPURS v SOUTHAMPTON
Spurs followed up their super impressive win ver Chelsea the weekend previous, with a loss in the North London Derby. We tend to think they will take it out on Southampton. The Saints did well against Manchester Utd last weekend by drawing 2-2, although that’s not too hard a task these days. Southampton have had a poor record against Spurs since their return to the EPL in 2012, just one win and two draws in 12 matches.
Best Bet: First Half Correct Score – Spurs 2-0 ($7) or 3-0 ($21)
MANCHESTER UTD v ARSENAL
The midweek’s premium game, a top six game that will probably end up 0-0, just the way Mourinho likes it. Manchester Utd are up to 7th, but that owes more to teams losing around them than their own super form. Arsenal really did the job against Spurs last game, and are on a run of 12 games without a loss. They leapfrog Spurs into fourth on goal difference. Another win will help their cause and one can only imagine the tantrum from Jose if it does happen.
This is the first match for Arsenal against Man Utd since Arsene Wenger left, for a barely interesting fact his record against them in his tenure in all comps was 15 Wins, 25 Losses and 12 Draws.
Best Bet: Time of 1st Man Utd goal – 2nd Half @ $3.00
