The NRL Coaching Vacancies season is in full swing, with a number of clubs currently or potentially looking for a new man in charge. In most cases it involves a messy, public divorce, certainly in the recent case of Penrith, and looming as the case in Brisbane and at Manly.
It is no fun for anyone involved – the club, the board, the head coach getting the arse.
Possibly the only people who enjoy it are the journalists, who get to speculate about replacements, with all their late mail, whispers, and insiders.
But what if you could make the Merry-Go-Round of NRL Coaching Vacancies more fun. Providing entertainment and certainty in equal measure.
Let us introduce the NRL Coaching Vacancies Select O Wheel.
HOW DOES THE NRL COACHING VACANCIES SELECT O WHEEL WORK?
Thanks for asking.
The NRL would insist that all NRL Coaching Vacancies not be filled until after the current season is over, that way we can turn it into a super night of entertainment in the off season.
Like a draft, it could be a gala evening at a venue of choice and quality for the NRL. Either Crown Casino, Star Casino or the Rooty Hill RSL. Fox Sports would be there of course, as it is the off season and nothing else is happening.
Anyone wishing to fill one of the NRL Coaching Vacancies would have to apply directly to the NRL to be included in the first draft of potential coaches. This would allow the NRL to ensure that all potential coaches were qualified. The successful candidates would go into the first draft, with no upper limit.
FIRST DRAFT
All successful applicants will be announced and paraded and interviewed for live TV. From there each club with NRL Coaching Vacancies are able to select two applicants each to go into the second round. Ready for the next fun stage.
On top of the two selected from each club, the NRL could also insist at this stage that at least one up and coming coach with no NRL experience from both Intrust Super competitions were included.
SECOND ROUND
Now we are down to a dozen fine potential coaches.
It’s about time we got the public involved….
For a 15 minute window the public get to vote on the best five candidates, via an SMS and Internet poll.
The live tally being broadcast around the Rooty Hill RSL function room, and on Fox League at home.
The top five NRL Coaching Vacancies candidates then enter the final round – the NRL Coaching Vacancies Select O Wheel.
FINAL ROUND
Now it’s time to spin the NRL Coaching Vacancies Select O Wheel…..
Each candidate gets their turn to spin the wheel. Whatever it lands on is the club they have to go to for the upcoming season. The clubs are removed as they get their head coach via the wheel.
The person with the highest votes from the second goes first and so on.
Fans, club decision makers will fill their NRL Coaching Vacancies, and entertain the rugby league public at the same time.
