Interesting food news this week as Smith’s released an unexpected new potato chip flavour – Garlic Bread – to many the bemusement for some and applause for others.
One wonders who would have asked for this in the first place, and why Smith’s bothered with this new potato chip flavour. Well, until you see the giant Pizza Hut logo on the front of the packet.
Some may love it, and really who wouldn’t want to combine Garlic Bread and Potato Chips.
But it is only for a limited time, and so the question of what a potential new potato chip flavour could be.

SIX OF THE BEST NEXT NEW POTATO CHIP FLAVOUR
LATE NIGHT KEBAB
A staple of the late night drunkard, having a potato chip flavoured like a late night kebab would certainly save on heartburn, dry cleaning and probably save yourself few kilos as you arrogantly ask for a Guinness Book of World Records kebabs to the polite annoyance of the poor servers behind the counter at 2:30am.
BACON & EGG McMUFFIN
A simple continuation of the above late night kebab flavour would be the next morning’s Bacon & Egg McMuffin flavour. Given that Smith’s would happily combine forces with Pizza Hut for the Garlic Bread new potato chip flavour, why not hook up with McDonalds for the new touch of breakfast in a packet.
KRISPY KREME DOUGHNUT
A new potato chip flavour doesn’t necessarily need to be savoury. Why not have a Krispy Kreme doughnut flavoured chip for that morning snack. Another commercial tie in should be no problem either.
THE MILD BUTTER CHICKEN
People love curries, but not everyone can handle the power of a fearsome Vindaloo, or the pure Indian magnificence that is a Mick Hundal Spice Rack Saag. So our new proposed potato chip flavour that everyone can enjoy is the Mild Butter Chicken.
HASH COOKIE
Given that potato chips are usually involved in the process of a quiet toke or two, why not somehow, legally combine the potato chip with the taste and mind bending power of the hash cookie. It would certainly taste better than our alternative choice in this category – the Bucket Bong flavour.
KALE SMOOTHIE
For those health conscious potato chip fanciers comes the Kale Smoothie chip. Probably not going to tempt the healthy on the grounds it isn’t, nor the people who like flavour on the grounds it wouldn’t be, this is our worst idea. And barely qualifies as funny. Happily we saved it for last as pure Six Pack filler.
