The story…

Argentina were surprised last time out against Iceland, who did very well to hold onto a 1-1, a missed penalty from Messi hurting more than we would imagine. It’s not panic stations yet, with Nigeria looking a very winnable fixture, but a loss would be crisis mode and draw worrying. Croatia meanwhile can just about book a passage to the knockout phase with an unlikely win.

Group D PL W D L GF – GA PTS

Argentina 1 0 1 0 1 – 1 1

Players to Watch

Messi – of course but needs to atone for his penalty miss and lead Argentina to victory.

Modric or Rakitic for Croatia

Our Bold Prediction…what we think will happen….

Draw 1-1

What will probably happen….

Argentina and Messi will blow away the Croatians and win 4-1.

World Cup Preview HAIKU

Messi time to shine
Argentina need a win
Croatia surprise.

Bluff your way to World Cup expertise

If Argentina lose here they are in anger of missing our on the knockout stages for the first time since 2002. The last time Iceland drew 1-1 in the opening game of a tournament, their opponents went onto win the Championship (Portugal Euro 2016). Not a bad omen for Argentina.

IF the teams were cars they’d be….

Argentina – Aston Martin

Croatia – Mitsubishi Lancer
