The story…
Uruguay eventually got past a Mo-less Egypt last start, but it wasn’t the greatest win, and one that required a defender to get the only score of the game, despite Luis Suarez having plenty of shots and opportunities. Cavani looked good, and he may well be more selfish this time against a Saudi side that shipped 5 goals against the side who were second worst ranked team leading into the World Cup. A win here would almost guarantee Uruguay through into the knockout stage, and they can continue their role as one of the tournament dark horses. Saudi Arabia will likely be hoping they just don’t get smashed like against Russia, and at the very least won’t have to sit there while Putin pretended not to be smug.
