The story…

Poland are seen as one of those potential dark horses from Europe for this World Cup, there is usually two or three European teams that earn the title going into a tournament. One thing Poland do have over any other dark horse or even Group H opponent is a genuine top level goalscorer in Robert Lewandowski. The Bayern striker is wanted by many a club, and a great showing here for Poland could increase the weekly wage and prestige of the club. Similarly, Senegal are seen as an outside chance to progress from Group H and go even further. Like Egypt, they have a group in which progression looks capable of escape. The other two African teams have much harder groups. And their first up results don’t help.

Players to Watch

Sadio Mane (Senegal) / Robert Lewandowski (Poland)

Our Bold Prediction – What we think will happen….

Draw 1-1

Our Bold Prediction – What will probably happen….

Like the other African teams so far at the World Cup, Senegal will probably struggle early, go down 1-0 soon after the half hour through a Lewandowski goals, and then the game shuts up shop for the remainder.

Odds
Poland $2.30 Senegal $3.20
Draw $3.10 0-0 $7.50

Bluff your way to World Cup expertise

Robert Lewandowski- Bayern Munich super striker was in good form during qualifying scoring a UEFA Qualifying high of 16 goals. But failed to have a shot on target during the Group Stage at the last Euros. The last time Senegal were at a World Cup (2002) they finished in the Quarter Finals and knocked out holders France in the Group Stage. Of the Africans teams who qualified, they only lost 2 games between them in qualifying. Senegal didn’t lose at all (4 wins 2 draws). Pressure is on though as no African wins yet.
