EPL Matchday 34 Predictions – Gurgler v Points Won from Losing Positions

Here are The Gurgler’s EPL Matchday 33 Predictions and as ever, we have our weekly tipping competition against a different opponent, and this week we put our tips up against the record of getting points from losing positions after the great comeback of Roma in the Champions League midweek.

Before we do though, here’s our mini preview of EPL Matchday 34 of all the things we can’t and can wait for.

THINGS WE ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO FOR THE EPL MATCHDAY 34 AHEAD

FTA GAME in AUSTRALIA –
Saturday Midnight Kick Off – SBS TV

CRYSTAL PALACE v BRIGHTON

A feisty rivalry and with the added bonus of being a relegation threatened six pointer.

SPURS v MAN CITY

Manchester City haven’t had a great deal to cheer about lately, and a visit to Spurs may not be the best fixture when on a bad run.

SHORT, SHARP, BOLD PREDICTIONS FOR EPL MATCHDAY 34

0-0 SPECIAL

Not this week – goals a plenty.

PLAYER OF THE WEEKEND

Christian Eriksen again we hope. Double game week and Triple Captain for our Fantasy side. Or Marko Arnautović.

SURPRISE OF THE WEEKEND

Newcastle to upset Arsenal.

NEXT CANDIDATE FOR SACK RACE

Surely there’s no one left to get the sack until after the season finishes.

THINGS WE AREN’T LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS WEEKEND

Swansea v Everton – can’t imagine that would be much fun. Maybe we should have nominated at least one 0-0.

GURGLER’S EPL TIPPING COMPETITION

Each week we will put our tips up against an opponent, just like Lawro’s tips on the BBC Football website. But instead of having famous comedian and musicians we’ve never heard of, we put our tips up against a different type of opponent.

We determine tips based on some ridiculous premise or statistic, and we then see if arse truly does beat class.

This week’s opponent tips are based on how many points the EPL sides have gained from losing positions. Read on for more as we explain ourselves.

OUR EPL MATCHDAY 34 PREDICTIONS

Onto our selections for the round ahead, with added scores to take on Lawro from the BBC.   Our bold predictions for score are alongside our weekly tips.

A 7/10 last week, with a correct score. In the hunt for that last Europa League place if this form keeps up.

Background

We are coming off one of the best weeks of Champions League football in some time, with Roma coming down from 3-0 down in the first leg to beat Spanish powerhouse Barcelona, and their fellow Italian Club Juventus almost doing the same against the other Spanish powerhouse in Real Madrid.

That may well have been winning from losing first leg, not necessarily the same game, but what better time to base tips on this EPL season’s best teams at winning points from losing positions. The best overall might just surprise you. Bournemouth.

So to work out tips, the team that has more points from losing positions gets the tip, because they have more heart and deserve to win more.
