Here are The Gurgler’s EPL Matchday 26 Predictions and after a full batch of midweek football, we just cant’t seem to get enough at this stage.
The Transfer Window, and for most teams, the last chance saloon, has closed with potential and questionable value to go on show for the next 13 games. With only the title race over it is going to be an interesting last part of the season.
As ever, we have our weekly tipping competition against a different opponent, and this week we put our tips up against selections based on the Transfer Window.
Before we do, here’s our mini preview of EPL Matchday 26.
THINGS WERE LOOKING FORWARD TO FOR THE EPL MATCHDAY 25 AHEAD
FTA GAME in AUSTRALIA – MAN CITY v BURNLEY
Early Saturday Night Kick Off – SBS TV)
Title Winners in waiting v the season’s surprise packets who are slowly drifting out of form.
LIVERPOOL v SPURS
After two shock losses to Swansea and West Brom, Liverpool will surely turn it on against Huddersfield. Or is it the start of a genuine slump?
HOW MAHREZ FITS BACK INTO LEICESTER
After not playing on Wednesday due to a sulk after his Man City transfer didn’t go through, it will be interesting to see if he plays this weekend, and does well, or wastes his team’s time like others in similar circumstances.
NEXT CANDIDATE FOR SACK RACE
We said Southampton heading into the midweek games, but Chelsea boss Conte must be a decent value chance after the loss against Bournemouth and general disappointment of this season.
THREE BOLD PREDICTIONS FOR EPL MATCHDAY 26
0-0 SPECIAL – West Brom v Southampton
PLAYER OF THE WEEKEND – Paul Pogba
SURPRISE RESULT OF THE WEEKEND – Swansea to beat Leicester
GURGLER’S EPL TIPPING COMPETITION
Each week we will put our tips up against an opponent, just like Lawro’s tips on the BBC Football website. But instead of having famous comedian and musicians we’ve never heard of, we put our tips up against a different type of opponent.
We determine tips based on some ridiculous premise or statistic, and we then see if arse truly does beat class.
This week’s opponent tips are based on the change in value of each squad from beginning of the season until today.
OUR EPL MATCHDAY 26 PREDICTIONS

EPL MATCHDAY 26 PREDICTIONS v SQUAD VALUE POST TRANSFER WINDOW
The January Transfer Window is a big deal for Football clubs, and media alike, and since we are neither we may as well join the bandwagon with opposition tips based on the Transfer Window.
We have determined the difference between the current value of the squad (which includes deadline day transfers) and the team’s value at the start of the year. And as ever the biggest number or change in value gets the tip.
It does favour smaller teams who only need a few big signings to boost the %. Although some of the big clubs still show up at the sharp end. 3 clubs had a negative change in squad value, including Arsenal who were last with -14% and it was the Alexis Sanchez move to Man Utd that probably took the large chunk of that.
All the information comes from the bible of Football Market Value – transfermarkt.com
