With a good size of the Australian sporting public concentrating on the Nick Kyrgios tilt at the Australian Open, probably because there’s no Rugby League/AFL, and most have had more than enough of Slats and Co. on Channel Nein, so it is time to join the bandwagon and have a Tennis themed Theme Week featuring a Great Tennis Tantrum or two.
A Great Tennis Tantrum lasts almost as long in the public’s memory than a Grand Slam win. Real Tennis fans will be able to recall most Grand Slam wins, whereas the more casual fans will remember them in equal measure as a great on court dummy spit.
No to confuse a great Tennis Tantrum with an act of Tennis Jerk though. Kyrgios and Tomic’s fine work is necessarily a great Tennis Tantrum, but an act of pure jerk, which is why they aren’t included in our favourites list.
