Time for our weekly EPL bits and pieces plus our EPL Matchweek 10 Predictions.
Something that was easy to predict was another manager getting the arse, this time it is Ronald Koeman at Everton. No surprise after capping a terrible season with a 5-2 loss to Arsenal. Despite their cash splashing in the off season they sit third last, albeit just three point from 12th. Get ready for the new Manager bounce soon.
Slaven Bilic at West Ham, Mark Hughes at Stoke and even the much fancied Eddie Howe must start to worry now, not us, we love the Sack Race. What other areas in life can you bet on someone losing their job. Maybe it should happen more in other walks of life.
Someone should sack us after our miserable tipping last weekend. We promise to do better this week after being given the full confidence of The Gurgler board of directors.
Before we get into what we’ve selected and our slightly absurd method of selecting opponent tips, here’s a few of our favourite things.
A FEW OUR OF FAVOURITE THINGS FOR THE EPL MATCHWEEK 10 AHEAD
FTA GAME in AUSTRALIA – MANCHESTER UNITED 10:30PM EST – SBS get it so right with their selection of game of the week. Unlike Channel Nein with their rugby league, but we’ll save that moan for many times in the future.
NO/NEW MANAGER SPECIAL – Everton sacked their manager on Monday, and had Leicester not hired Claude Puel in the last 24 hours it would have been an all No Manager Special. Claude Puel is a bit of a Meh signing after Liecester’s owners promised a big name. Still interesting which team does what, Leicester with the new manager bounce, or Everton with the Koeman off their back.
MOOY BUENO – Great to see Aaron Mooy socring goals and kicking arse against Manchester United. Now Australian football fans just need him to replicate that against Honduras, if he is selected to start that is. His Huddersfield team play Liverpool at Anfield this weekend, fresh from having their pants pulled down against Spurs at Wembley last weekend.
GURGLER’S EPL TIPPING COMPETITION
Each week we will put our tips up against an opponent, just like Lawro’s tips on the BBC Football website. But instead of having famous comedian and musicians we’ve never heard of, we put our tips up against a different type of opponent.
We determine tips based on some ridiculous premise or statistic, and we then see if arse truly beat class.
This week’s opponent is based on the nationality of players since we’re heading into an International break.
OUR EPL MATCHWEEK 10 PREDICTIONS
Onto our selections for the round ahead, with added scores to take on Lawro from the BBC. Our tips were great last weekend with 8 correct, can we do it again or better? Of course we can. We got one correct score too, and our bold predictions for score are alongside our weekly tips.

THIS WEEK’S OPPONENT:
EPL MATCHWEEK 10 PREDICTIONS USING POST 2017-18 LEAGUE CUP FORM
Since we have just seen off another round of the Carabao Cup aka the League Cup, why not use that competition as a way of getting some opponents tips this week.
It is relatively easy, we take the very next result/s of the team after playing in the midweek League Cup. For some teams it will be an average of two games as they were low enough down to join the League Cup in the second round and won. Other teams will only have 1 result as they were either too hopeless to win their first League Cup game of be big enough to sit it out.
The results are only from this year’s League Cup. Someone with more time on their hands could probably go back a few more seasons, and maybe later we will.
Anyways, here are our opponent tips for the week, average of competition points scored after League Cup game in brackets.
DRAW – Manchester United (3pts) v Spurs (3pts)
WATFORD (2pts) to beat Stoke (0.5pts)
MANCHESTER CITY (3pts) to beat West Brom (0.5pts)
ARSENAL (3pts) to beat Swansea (1.5pts)
DRAW – Crystal Palace (0pts) v West Ham (0pts)
LIVERPOOL (3pts) to beat Huddersfield (1pt)
CHELSEA (3pts) to beat Bournemouth (0pts)
BRIGHTON (2pts) to beat Southampton (0.5pts)
EVERTON (3pts) to beat Leicester (0pts)
