Time for our weekly EPL bit and pieces plus our EPL Matchweek 7 Predictions.
Enjoy this weekend’s games, it is the last round before yet another International Break. Yawn, except for Australia’s qualifying games we guess.
Before we get into what we’ve selected and our slightly absurd method of selecting opponent tips, here’s a few of our favourite things.
A FEW OUR OF FAVOURITE THINGS FOR THE EPL MATCHWEEK 7 AHEAD
FTA GAME in AUSTRALIA – HUDDERSFIELD v SPURS – coverage on SBS from 9pm – what a game last weekend’s FTA game was with Spurs beating West Ham 3-2. The game got very interesting after Spurs lost a man, and West Ham almost made them pay. So it is two weeks in a row for Spurs, but this time FTA fans get to see Aaron Mooy, who has earned rave reviews thus far.
CHELSEA v MANCHESTER CITY – With it looking increasingly likely that we can only take 3 teams seriously for the title, this weekend sees the first clash of the three EPL 2017-18 heavyweights. Both come off impressive Champions League victories midweek, and Manchester City are just scoring for fun at the moment. Good luck to Chelsea with keeping them under control.
GURGLER’S EPL TIPPING COMPETITION
Each week we will put our tips up against an opponent, just like Lawro’s tips on the BBC Football website. But instead of having famous comedian and musicians we’ve never heard of, we put our tips up against a different type of opponent.
We determine tips based on some ridiculous premise or statistic, and we then see if arse truly beat class.
This week’s opponent is based on the nationality of players since we’re heading into an International break.
OUR EPL MATCHWEEK 7 PREDICTIONS
Onto our selections for the round ahead, with added scores to take on Lawro from the BBC. Our tips were great last weekend with 8 correct, can we do it again or better? Of course we can. We got one correct score too, and our bold predictions for score are alongside our weekly tips.

EPL MATCHWEEK 7 PREDICTIONS – USING NUMBER OF DIFFERENT NATIONS IN FIRST TEAM SQUAD
Given the next International break is almost upon us, why not use the nationalities of the players in each team’s first squad, and the more the better we say.
Having so many internationals seems to be thing this time of year given the worldwide popularity of the EPL, so why not have the answers and our tipping companion for the EPL Matchweek 7 worked out on how many different nations are represented. The more the better and gets the tip.
Interestingly (or not) , Watford have the most different nations in their first team squad with 18, the lowest with just 11 countries is three nations – Newcastle, West Brom and Swansea. A few favourites for the drop.
Anyways, here are our opponent tips for the week, number of different nationalities in bracket. Data taken from Good Ol’ Wikipedia.
