They said we’d never make it, but here we are as The Gurgler celebrates 1000 stories.
It is a milestone which seemed highly unlikely when this site started in late 2013 as a one sided conversation about lower division sports, obscure people and other things most normal people aren’t interested in.
In those 3 1/2 years or so we have unloaded so much (more) rubbish onto the Internet. and we at The Gurgler couldn’t be happier or prouder of our achievement. And somehow people seem to be enjoying it to. The Gurgler has climbed 2.8 Million places to be the 15,483,219th most visited website in the world. One can only imagine the quality of the 2.8 Million we have recently overtaken.
Sure, we’re probably behind a lot of pornography, and we’re behind a lot of much better websites, but very few would cover Willie Minoga, Space City in Kallangur, determine football tips on Brexit voting and provide semi regular Rod Pampling all in one place like The Gurgler. There’s someone for everyone.
Like when any worthwhile enterprise reaches a significant milestone, we will take the moment to be self indulgent and take a look back at the very “best” and blurst The Gurgler has offered over the years.
We couldn’t have done it without some help, and would like to thank family, friends, trolls, and attempted hackers for their ongoing support. A support that hasn’t wavered despite a lack of quality of content, lack of sense, a lack of anything Kardashian, and the occasional meltdown. Those who helped during Website Development Time, or through a quick brainstorming email chain, running our short lived podcast, remembering the many, many Crap Fantales from back in the day or just providing a polite smile or loving shake of the head at some of the content, we thank you.
Will there be another 1000? Lord knows. We didn’t even think we’d get to 100. But we’ll just take it one day at a time, and do it as a team. Differently.
Onto the self indulgent stuff now as we relive our most/least popular gear, trawl through the archives, and wonder why we created so many articles, which took so much time, got so little reads for so long.

To be honest our list of stories only goes down to 6 or less reads, so with several hundred to choose from we select none, as they are all good.
