Kick to Come – NRL Round 4 Preview – powered by Bronco Djura Menswear

Welcome to The Gurgler’s Kick to Come – our NRL Round 4 preview.

Hard to think we’re up to Round 4 already, after the off season felt like an eternity.

It will probably be an eternity for Jason Taylor to get another coaching gig, as he became the season’s first casualty. He is very unlikely to be the last. As unlikely as he is to be hired again in the NRL.

In case you’re asking, we’ve supplied our thoughts on last weekend’s Round 3 with our recap of Round 3.

But that’s last week, and this week is…this week.

Each week we ask questions on the round ahead and answer them ourselves, mainly because no one else will. We also provide our “best bets” on the weekend action and our tipping competition. And we indulge ourselves with something stupid, the backbone of this website.

SOME QUESTIONS FOR THE NRL ROUND 4 PREVIEW

ROOSTERS v RABBITOHS

Q – How many fingers will Luke Keary be giving to Souths (more appropriately Russell Crowe) after Thursday night’s game?

A – One or two. His choice.

PANTHERS v KNIGHTS

Q – Surely Penrith won’t be as many dud decisions this week?

A – Na.

BRONCOS v RAIDERS

Q – Friday night at Suncorp Stadium?

A – You know it.

MANLY v BULLDOGS

Q – Will the sacking of Jason Taylor and a surge in form allow both head coaches Manly and Bulldogs to breathe easier.

A – Yes.

EELS v SHARKS

Q – Doesn’t Channel Nein like the Sharks? This looks a certain Sunday afternoon game?

A – Appears so. Maybe it is something else that people can blame Fifita for.

TITANS v COWBOYS

Q – Was last weekend a one off for both teams?

A – We think so.

WESTS TIGERS v STORM

Q – Sacked Coach Bounce?

A – Melbourne Storm are never that generous.

DRAGONS v WARRIORS

Q – Can the Warriors win a game in Sydney in the first half of the season?

A – No.

BONUS QUESTION – How bad is that TAB ad with the Bon Jovi song?

A – Still real bad.

THE GURGLER’S NRL TIPPING COMPETITION

Each week we will supply our tips for the week ahead, plus take on some guest tipsters. They are likely to determined by a ridiculous method. Will arse beat class? Probably. Pity we’re neither.

We have done it for the EPL, but next to none reads it. So we hope to get at least half of those people for the NRL tipping.

It is like the BBC EPL Tips of Lawro vs Someone Else, but more ridiculous.
