The Singapore Grand Prix 2016 was won by Nico Rosberg, but was he the only winner?
Who were the real losers from the race?
The Gurgler examines the race that was and hands out the Good, Bad and Ugly of the Singapore Grand Prix 2016.
And unlike Luca Badoer’s or Pedro Chaves’ F1 career, our review is in point form.\
THE GOOD
NICO ROSBERG
Has done the job since returning from the Summer break, including this weekend where he held off Ricciardo in the last stint. A previous Rosberg may have choked his way to second place.
DANIEL RICCIARDO
Saw off Max Verstappen in qualifying, then took it to Mercedes in the race. Hopefully he can take advantage of next year’s rules and get a race winning car. Although he’ll have to share with Max.
MAX VERSTAPPEN v DANII KVYAT
There is nothing like a bit of hate. The duel for a few laps was high intensity and great viewing. A little win for the former Red Bull driver for a few laps. The only one since the young Dutchman usurped him.
KEVIN MAGNUSSEN
10th in that Renault is some achievement. May be enough to hang onto the seat for next year.
KIMI
Always great to see Kimi up the sharp end for a change.
SEB VETTEL
A fair drive to get within 30 seconds of the winner after starting last.
THE BAD
ROMAIN GROSJEAN
Never got to start after problems throughout the weekend. As bad as it gets.
NICO HULKENBERG
Didn’t get much further. Punished for a good start by being hit up the arse into a wall by Carlos Sainz a few hundered metres from his grid slot.
THE UGLY
LEWIS HAMILTON
Whilst third isn’t bad, the loss of Championship and momentum would have a regular F1 pilot worried.
