English Football League Preview High Fives Weekly #4

Who cares about the English Football League? You do, that’s why we’re here. You’re here because you’re interested in Burton Albion and Morecambe rather than any EPL giant. Here for your consideration is our English Football League preview.

The weekend is here and so is the English Football League. 3 divisions of great football action await. Our preview is ready for the weekend ahead.

Well, we’re excited anyway.

5 THINGS FROM LAST WEEK/END’S ACTION

Ipswich v Norwich. The first half anyway. A classic Old Farm derby that ended in a draw and Ipswich Town in the most mediocre position possible. 13th. Norwich look good thus far for a quick return to the EPL.

Nottingham Forest 4 Wigan Athletic 3 – a second 4-3 win of the year. Nottingham Forest appear to be this year’s entertainers.

Blackburn Rovers get their first point of the year with 2-2 draw against newly promoted Burton Albion. They look like this year’s Bolton – the fallen EPL club to head to the third tier.

Talking of Bolton. Bolton Wanderers win to make it 4 from 4 and are the only team in the Football League to be 100%.

Midweek League Cup Round 2. Lower League upsets – Northampton beat WBA, Gillingham beat Watford, Fulham beat Middlesbrough and Frank favourite Accrington Stanley beat

Burnley. Plus fourth tier Carlisle took second tier Derby County to penalty shootout. They lost the shootout 14-13.

5 THINGS TO LOOK OUT FOR THE EFL ENGLISH FOOTBALL LEAGUE THIS WEEKEND

1st placed Huddersfield play 3rd placed Wolves

Candidates for 1st and 3rd at the end of the year Newcastle Untd and Brighton also clash this weekend.

Burton Albion v Derby County. Burton Manager Nigel Clough used to manage Derby County. He arrived there from Burton Albion who at that stage were not far from being promoted from Non League.

Charlton v Bolton – two relegated Championship clubs looking good to rebound.

Swindon Town v Bristol Rovers – the closest game to a hate derby this weekend. Well the early kick off says so anyway.

5 FAVOURITE 1980’s/1990’s FOOTBALL LEAGUE KITS

For this week’s top five we take a look down memory lane, where not everything 80’s and 90’s was good.
