A long weekend means a long weekend of rugby league with six games spread over the three days, including the now traditional Anzac Day clash between the Burleigh Bears and the PNG Hunters.
A big week for the Top 6 too, as all of the competition’s top 6 sides face off – 1st placed Townsville and Northern Pride in 3rd meet in FNQ, 4th placed Redcliffe meet the 6th placed Easts Tigers and 2nd placed PNG Hunters face 5th placed Bears.
It is also a little bit of a Willie Nelson week as the Intrust Super Cup goes on the road again with games in Burpengary, Yeppoon and Hervey Bay providing something different, and more locations on the ISC rugby league mission.

SAT 2PM – REDCLIFFE DOLPHINS v EASTS TIGERS
Redcliffe take game to the suburbs again in Burpengary looking to consolidate top 4 over weakened Tigers.
SAT 6PM – SOUTHS LOGAN MAGPIES v CENTRAL CAPRAS
Where’s Yeppoon? Next to your knife and fork. They also get the Magpies-Capras game. Previous success taking home games to northern half of state.
SAT 6:30PM – SUNSHINE COAST FALCONS v IPSWICH JETS
Another new location as Hervey Bay gets a taste of ISC. Falcons need two good halves, Jets need two points.
SUN 1:40PM – TWEED HEADS SEAGULLS v MACKAY CUTTERS
TV Game for lower rung teams. Seagulls need another win badly, Cutters just need a win at all.
SUN 4:00PM – TOWNSVILLE BLACKHAKWS v NORTHERN PRIDE
Quality FNQ battle could be GF in September. Should be on TV.
MON 3:35PM – BURLEIGH BEARS v PNG HUNTERS
Anzac Day clash featuring two of the comp’s top sides so far. Should be a cracker.

THE HUNT FOR PNG OCTOBER
The Hunters fly down to Burleigh for the big clash on Anzac Day on the back of two good wins at home in a row – one against the competition favourites Townsville and the other they had to overcome a very early 16-0 deficit to beat the Devils.
They currently sit second on the ladder behind the Blackhawks, equal on points but a whopping 80 points behind already in for and against. They still look good for finals though at this stage, and we’ll be waiting for them in September at Lang Park. It will look really sad sitting in our Hunters shirt and PNG hat watching two other teams.
