With Juventus on a 9 game winning streak, they have turned around a season where last year’s Champions League finalists were 17th at one stage, to be just 2 points off the top in second. In fact there’s just 3 points separating top 4, but Juventus’ rise makes them the favourites with all that momentum. A team that was in that group – Roma – have since dropped out, and the blame has been squared at their manager who was fired this week.
In Spain some interest will lie in the fallout to the Ballon D’or – the never ending quest to determine who is better between Ronaldo and Messi. Also interesting will be the fallout to both big Madrid clubs transfers bans. Real will no doubt try and fill their shopping trolley very quickly.
In France Nice beat Angers overnight to take second from their opponents, but still remain a whopping 20 points behind PSG. Both teams are actually closer to the relegation zone.
The other lop sided league in Germany is due back next week.
