Le Own Goal – The Gurgler’s Euro Football Weekly

Who loves European Football? Les Murray? You? Boutros Boutros Ghali? All of the above, and all are as likely to read this bit on continental football. Not the Keith Floyd Continental either, although both love their wine.

Talking of zeros, we have our usual euro super multi on offer which will provide many zeros if you follow it. Based on recent form the sum will include a decimal point and a few Zeros thab if it wins.

Big news in euro football is Barcelona having their pants pulled down by Celta Vigo 4-1. Celta Vigo were up the sharp end of la liga but it was to be seen if it was just an early season flukey occurrence or a genuine sign of success this season. It may well prove the former but for now let them bask. It also gives Real Madrid the upper hand as their one bad result thus far is a draw.

PSG and Bayern Munich still lead their respective leagues to no surprise but thankfully it looks like there might be a challenge for a change with St Etienne and Dortmund providing early season form.

Italy is a different story with last season’s underachievers Inter on top and with a perfect start to the season. More surprising is Juventus in 13th and minnows Sassuolo and Chievo in 3rd and 4th.
